Hey I don’t often get into my BJD/Modeling interests, but the fact that recasting has become such an issue that it has even made the rounds to show up on Adam Savage’s Tested, you know it’s a problem.

It’s hard being an artist.  It’s hard being an artist making complex and amazing things like these, this sums up the issue in a perfect little nutshell, and if you’re into model kits, small artist vinyl, BJDs, please give this a watch.  Be conscientious of who you buy from, and understand the costs in these hobbies are a product of the time and labor put into this cool stuff.

The operative word in the phrase “art toy” is not “toy.” It is “art.”

I’d like to ask my followers to watch this, even if they are not bjd fans or miniaturists, toy collectors, or crafters of any kind. 

There is nothing cool or clever about buying recast.
