Some of Hans Bellmer’s Dolls (c. 1930s), a surrealist series of sculptures/photographs depicting Bellmer’s own outrageous, provocative and disturbing handmade dolls. The photographs have left a lasting, uncanny impression in pop culture, most noticeably in having been named inspiration for characters in Ghost in the Shell and Silent Hill.
