Alice: Madness Returns was so cool for real and it still makes me bitter that they were hoping to do a movie until Tim Burton crushed their dream by making an Alice that, in the eyes of most studios, was the same basic concept with a more famous and marketable name on it.
But his take is SO lifeless in comparison and doesn’t push a single thing as weird as this game did
Still a crying shame this concept art didn’t make the game’s final cut but Alice fighting snails on top of a lighthouse is something already so much zanier and radder than I think post-Beetlejuice Burton would even come to at a prototype stage.
